Se-mi-ah-mu Development Corporation is committed to fostering new ventures, maintaining, building, and partnering with relationships that are beneficial to both Semiahmoo and the corporate world.
Our belief is that the best way we can achieve that is to open up and share where we can, and when we can, with those that have an open heart and open mind.
PRESIDENT WILLARD COOK
After serving as Chief of the Semiahmoo First Nation for 20 years, Willard Cook is now the President of the Semiahmoo Economic Development Corporation.
In addition to his leadership of the Semiahmoo Economic Development Corp, Cook is also President of Semiahmoo Security Services Ltd., a security company that provides professional services to industries working in collaboration with joint ventures, First Nation Partnerships and other enterprises.
KEVIN COOK
After previously sitting on Council, Kevin Cook now serves as a Director of the Semiahmoo Economic Development Corporation.
He was born and raised in White Rock, and while he has lived elsewhere, he is proud to call Semiahmoo home.
Cook is married to his wife Betty and cites his passions as restoring old cars and travelling.
JOANNE CHARLES
Re-elected to Council with a mandate to pursue economic development, Joanne Charles is also a Director of the Se-mi-ah-mu Economic Development Corporation.
Joanne has years of experience as a small water and waste systems operator, and has worked as a Fisheries Officer.
In pursuing economic development opportunities on Nation lands, Charles is a strong voice on the importance of protecting the environment and preserving ancestral traditions for future generations.
